These are notes on two videos showing 6 laps from the middle of a race in the USF 2000 series at Lime Rock Park that shows an extended battle between me and another driver.

0:10 - Cross the start line, begin lap 5
1:01 - I make my first passing attempt on the front straight
1:03 - Begin lap 6
1:09 - I went into Turn 1 too hot, didn't brake in time, and I go off the track
1:14 - I got back on the track! I thought I'd spin and the race would be over for me
1:58 - Begin lap 7
2:50 - I pull out for my second pass attempt, and this time I get by
2:51 - Begin lap 8
3:05 - It looks here like he'll take back the position, but the outside line here is faster if I can stay in front of him and get to the left curb (which I do)
3:20 - I missed the chicane by a bit, got in too fast, and had to slow down a lot and turn; glad I didn't miss it completely (which I've done many times in practices)
3:25 - Since I missed the chicane, the other car has much better speed coming out of it and up the hill, so he passes me
3:30 - I know that I'm much faster through this section of two fast right-handers than the other car, so I know I'll catch him on the front straight
3:41 - The other car goes to the inside of the front straight, I think because he wants the inside of Turn 1 at the end of it, and wants to make me go around outside if I can't completely win the race down the straight
3:46 - Begin lap 9
3:50 - Well, that doesn't work, I never really get even, and he has the inside, so I get in behind him
4:15 - He locks wheels a little going into the chicane, so I get right up on him, but it doesn't matter because I know I can catch him on the front straight which is much safer, so I don't need to race him through these fast right-handers coming up
4:35 - He goes to the inside of the front straight again, and this time I follow him to get a draft
4:40 - Begin lap 10
4:41 - I think I pulled a tiny bit ahead right here
4:44 - I'm going into Turn 1 pretty hot, I lock the wheels a bit
4:46 - I'm ahead! and going around the outside
4:54 - Now I've got him, because we come to a left hander where I'll be inside
5:10 - This is it, if I make the chicane cleanly, I'll have him, because I'm faster through the fast right-handers
5:12 - I made it cleanly
5:22 - He goes wide off the track a tiny bit (which usually works OK here), he's going gangbusters to try to get me back
5:34 - Begin lap 11; he never got close enough on the straight to draft me
6:02 - I go cleanly through the chicane again
